What I Am Up To
Strange story, but I took my chihuahua for a pedicure to the veterinary this week and by accident, they pulled out her complete nail. We had to come back to the doctor extra two times just to hear: 'Oh, your dog injured herself'. No, YOU did it! The second and third visits were for free, but I cannot believe that I actually paid for that pedicure.
Cultural Lens
I am happy to share my new essay: Tuning To The Same Cultural Channel. It is a comparison of my experience of Playa del Carmen (Mexico) when I did not speak Spanish and when I did. A small excerpt:
Every time I switched to Spanish, the person instantly got brighter and livelier. Just like when you are listening to a gray news segment on the radio and suddenly switch to a salsa song on the next station.
Modern Workplace
RTO. A new abbreviation that stands for the dreadful Return to Office. This week I made it in one piece to the KPMG offices in Mexico City. The first time since I started the role two years ago. For a couple of nights before the day X, I started to have nightmares that I would forget something huge - like a laptop or changing out of PJs. I did not, I did great. But I did spend an enormous amount of energy to make it happen. Some of that energy got recovered after a hot bagel with egg and mustard served in the canteen.
That’s All for Now
